Using my homemade capstan rope winch at Mt. Moms house on Bluff Mt., Tennessee (Thanksgiving Week 2009) - After cutting firewood last Thanksgiving, I decided there had to be a better way to move logs around that mountain. After a bit of research, the engineering and work began - a few months later my winch was complete. Equipment Specs: Powertrain - Honda GX240 8 HP Motor w/ 6:1 Gear Reduction, Planetary Gear Head w/ 20:1 Gear Reduction (total gear reduction 120:1), Pull Rate - 30 Feet per Minute, Pulley Block - Custom made by Me, Rope - All Gear 9/16" Double Braided Composite Bull Rope (14000 lb. Break Strength).
