climber lifeline!

Pull a disabled climber over a long distance with 3/1 leverage. Unlike the block and tackle that requires a really long rope only a short working loop is needed so that a load can be pulled almost as far as the length of the rope. All you need is a 3oz plastic part to create an endless come along. Also required is a climbing rope and two prussics (rope loops). One prussic needs to be attahed to a secure anchor to work as primary lifeline. (RopeTie is not rated for primary lifeline and requires a safe backup).

Wraptor Gasoline Powered Winch Hoists Tree Climber

A decent sized Douglas Fir with a climbing rope anchored overhead is used to demonstrate the Wraptor. The spool grips the line securely while the 2-cycle engine spins the gear reduction drive to 'walk' the climber up the rope to the top of the tree. Video by Michael Oxman
